# ANALISIS KESALAHAN SISWA DALAM MENYELESAIKAN SOAL OPERASI HITUNG BILANGAN PECAHAN PADA SISWA KELAS X IIS MAN INSAN CENDEKIA SAMBAS TAHUN PELAJARAN 2019/2020

This study aims to (1) Determine the types of errors students make in solving mathematical

problems in fraction material (2) Find out why students make mistakes in solving math

problems in fraction material. The method used in this research is descriptive method using

qualitative analysis. The research subjects were 24 students of class X IIS MAN Insan Cendekia

Sambas in the academic year 2019/2020. There are 24 students who take written tests and 7

students for interviews. The data in this study are data from test and interview results. Based

on this research, students' mistakes in solving mathematical problems in the material fractions

are (1) Incorrect in equating the denominator (2) Errors in simplifying the shape of numbers

(3) Correct in operating the steps, but wrong in writing the final result (4 ) Incorrectly changing

the shape of a fraction (5) Error in applying the properties of a fraction. The cause of student

errors is the inaccuracy of students in working on the problem of counting operations of

fractions, students lack of understanding of problems, lack of understanding of students in

using the properties of fractions, too hasty in working on problems, and students do not recheck the results of their work.
